Cleo (Courtney) Bradshaw, 82, of Darby passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at her home. She was born on September 10, 1929, the fifth child of Charles and Elizabeth Courtney.
- Cleo was raised and educated in Philipsburg, MT. After graduating from high school, Cleo attended Dillon Normal College for a year. She met the love of her life, Galen Parker Bradshaw, at a dance in Hall, MT. They were married April 4, 1949 in Missoula, MT.
- Galen and Cleo lived in Drummond where they ranched until Galen passed away in 1967.
- Cleo and Galen were blessed with four daughters, Cheryl Ann, Gay Lynn, Donna Louise and Lois Elizabeth. While living in Drummond, Cleo and Galen loved to bowl, play cards, dance and be with friends.
- After Galen's passing, Cleo worked for a short time at Fort Harrison, MT. She then moved back to her hometown of Philipsburg where she was employed with the Montana Power Company for 20 years. After retiring, Cleo continued to live in Philipsburg for a few years before moving to Darby to be nearer to family.
- She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed cooking large family meals which her family will always remember. Cleo loved to do crossword puzzles which she was a whiz at.
- She was a very humble and caring person who quietly did many nice and caring things for her family and friends.
- Cleo was preceded in death by her loving husband, Galen; her parents; 4 siblings; and a grandson. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl (Steve) Weber of Baker, MT, Gay (Mark) Gerhardt of New Prague, MN, Donna (Vic) Douma of Bozeman, MT and Lois (Bill) McCready of Darby, MT; her brother, Maury Courtney of Manhattan, MT; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
- Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the New Chicago Cemetery in Drummond. There will be a luncheon following the services at the New Chicago Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints near Drummond.
