MISSOULA - Cody Ryan Hebert, 21, passed away on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Community Medical Center in Missoula, leaving his family and friends much too soon. He touched many lives during his short stay with us. We will miss him greatly but know he will be an inspiration as we continue on.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1989, in Heidelberg, Germany, to Michael and Cathy Hebert.
Even as a young boy, Cody's tremendous energy was so evident, and coupled with his humor and ever-present mischievous grin Cody was always the jokester. We will never forget waking up to an excited Cody announcing it was Christmas morning and there were presents to be opened; we only found out later he had set every clock in the house back three hours! But most importantly Cody was sensitive to others in need and had an incredibly big heart. He was very caring, thoughtful, and a very loyal friend. Cody especially had a place in his heart for children and animals, and they always seemed to like Cody the best.
Cody was very intelligent and talented in so many areas. Circumstances prevented him from graduating from high school in the traditional way, and he always seemed embarrassed by this. He didn't realize how proud his family was of him for taking the initiative to get his diploma on his own terms and then continuing his educational journey. While Cody didn't seem sure of what career path he wanted to pursue, his passion for music and his incredible writing talents likely would have played a role in whatever he chose.
Cody is survived by his loving parents Michael and Cathy Hebert; older brother Michael; and younger sisters Cheyenne and Sierra. He leaves behind paternal grandmother Shirley McGourty of Hamilton; and maternal grandparents, Joy Jones of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Charles Davis of Homer, Alaska. Cody also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him dearly.
As a family we look forward to that day when we will be together with Cody again and will be able to wrap our arms around him. Until then we are blessed in our many wonderful memories of Cody.
