Victor - On May 7, 2009, at Marcus Daly Hospital, Corinna Carmen Gandara, 41, went to be with The Lord to sing His praises in His heavenly choir. God blessed her with a beautiful singing voice.

Corinna was born on July 14, 1967 in Eureka, California. She was raised in Susanville, California by her parents Linda and Donald Phillips. Corinna attended Lassen High School, and graduated in 1985. As a student she was active in music and sports. She sang in the school chorus, and in the State Choir. One of her dreams was to someday sing professionally. The sports she participated in were basketball, track and cross-country. She also was a 4-H member. As an adult, Corinna was an animal lover, loved her dogs, and riding her horses.

A beautiful person, inside and out, Corinna was a beauty pageant winner in a Little Miss of America contest.

As a junior in high school, she began training as a nurses' aide. Her 22 year career of providing loving, compassionate care began in Susanville, and included local employment at Discovery Care Center and Marcus Daly Hospital. She was loved by the many patients that received her care. Corinna was a loving wife, and devoted, protective mother, cherished by her children, Malachi, Joshua, Ashley and Makayla. Corinna and James D. Gandara were married in 1984. They made their home in Corvallis. The children's friends were welcomed at their home and enjoyed her friendship.

Corinna was preceded in death by her birth mother Camille Franklin, sister Andrea La de Route, and father Donald Phillips.

She is survived by her husband James, sons Malachi and Joshua Roybal, Ashley and Makayla Gandara of Corvallis, her mother Linda Phillips of Susanville, CA., brothers Steve Phillips of Susanville, Jess Phillips of Billings, MT., sisters Donna Haley of Glendale, AZ., Dona Valentino of Escondido, CA., aunt Carmen Culver of Eureka, CA., cousin Mendi Longnickel of Eureka, CA., stepchildren JR and Rebecca Reynolds of Denver, CO., mother-in-law Donna Gandara of Corvallis, sisters-in-law and their families Gail Scott of Harker Hgts., TX, Dolores Taylor of Corvallis, Gloria Gandara of Suwanee, GA., Virginia Baldwin of Whitefish, MT., Rosanne Janes of Florence, MT., special friends Georgia and Leonard Otten of Darby MT., and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

Pallbearers are James D. Gandara, Malachi Roybal, Joshua Roybal, Cody Janes, Owen Janes, and Travis Janes. Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Phillips, Jess Phillips, JR Reynolds, and Leonard Otten.

Following the burial in Victor, a reception will be held at the Gandara residence. James and the children want to acknowledge and thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love, prayers and support.
