Stevensville - Dave Case, 57, of Stevensville passed away quietly at home Christmas Eve, with his beloved wife Sherry and dear friends Art and Ingrid by his side. He fought a short, courageous battle with cancer.

David Ashley Case was born in Hamilton on October 18, 1954 to June MacDonald Case and Leonard Ashley Case (aka Joe). He was raised and educated in Hamilton, and joined the Marines in 1972. He served in the states and Japan as an F 4 phantom jet engine mechanic.

Dave was a volunteer fireman in Hamilton for 13 years, and worked in various auto-body shops in Hamilton, Helena, Great Falls, and most recently Russ' in Missoula.

His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are: wife Sherry of Stevensville, daughters Julie Case of Helena and Jennifer Case of Great Falls; step daughter Heather Reid and husband Aaron of Washington, sister Sandy Hildebrant and husband Garry of Hamilton, brother Richard Case and wife Sharon of Great Falls, 8 grandchildren, and several nieces.

The Irish believe the gates of heaven instantly fly open to welcome those who pass on Christmas Eve. We will miss his quick wit and gentle spirit.
