Dennis "Denny" Bienusa

June 10, 1942 — June 24, 2023

Corvallis

Dennis Duane Bienusa ”Denny” of Corvallis, MT was 81 years old when he finished his race, June 24, 2023, here on earth to go home to be with the Lord.

Denny was born June 10, 1942 to George and Iris Bienusa of Staples, MN.  He spent much of his time as a young man working on anything that ticked from bicycles to cars to tractors and everything in between.  If it was mechanical or had a motor he could fix it.  He took vocational machine shop classes in High School and was employed by several shops in MN including 3M corporation.

Denny married Lucille Adeline Bienusa (Dohlen) “Lucy” in 1966.  They moved to Alexandria, MN and then up North to Roseau, MN where he worked for a short time at Farm Service before buying, renovating and running the gas station.  “Denny’s Standard” a full service station with gas, tires, tuneups, bait, tackle and sporting goods.  Denny also taught vocational Machine shop for 2 years at the Roseau High School and was well liked by his students.

Around 1979 Denny gave his heart to Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He committed his life to serving the Lord.  He never wavered in his faith and was unashamed as he approached people,  never missing an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, quite often leading others to the Lord.

In 1981 Denny moved his family to Hamilton, MT to attend bible college at Shiloh Christian Ministries.  He worked several jobs including Auto Mechanic for C&M Arrow (Mildenberger Motors) to rebuilding Engines for Napa Auto Parts and spent a couple years as a mail carrier for the USPS in Hamilton.  In 1995 Denny and Lucy went on a Mission to the Philippines and fell in love with the people and culture there.  He would often speak of friends met and time spent preaching and teaching in the Philippines.

Upon returning from the Mission field  they moved to the Corvallis area and spent time in Idaho as a machinist with his son-in-law Danny Moore, and later opened D&S Machining with his son Steve until he retired.  Until his last days he could often be found in his shop leaning over the lathe or teaching his Grandkids to fix things or work with the machines.

Denny instilled in his family his faith, his love for everything outdoors including hunting, fishing and anything with a motor.  Those who knew Denny will remember him for his sense of humor and his ability to befriend others.  Family and friends will miss his booming rendition of Happy Birthday either in person or through a phone call.

Denny is survived by his wife Lucy; 5 children Chris, Greg (Cindy), Michelle (Danny), Steve (Tami), Kristi (Tom); 11 grandchildren Michael, Brianna, Jesse, Kelsie (Casey), Clayton, Stephanie (Isaac), Jordan, Matthew, Katie, Cody, Kaitlin; 1 great granddaughter Harmony; sister Janice Monnot as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

A passage that describes Denny’s life is:  2 Timothy 4:7  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race.  I have kept the faith.
