Dennis John Murphy

HAMILTON – Dennis J. Murphy, 76, of Hamilton passed away from natural causes at Bitterroot Health Daly Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2025. He was born on November 10, 1948, to parents David and Alice Murphy in Miles City, Montana.

Dennis attended the University of Montana in Missoula after graduating from high school. He completed college with a Bachelor of Science degree. He proceeded to work as an engineering inspector for the city.

During his time in Missoula, Dennis met and married his beloved wife, Shirley. Together they had three children: Steve, Maddi, and Dustin Murphy.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, David and Alice Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Murphy; children, Steve Murphy, Maddi Bierer, and Dustin Murphy; and many other family members, including Leonard Murphy of Great Falls, Darrel Murphy of Great Falls, Marcia Murphy of Missoula, Rosie Murphy of Missoula, Tom Murphy of Vaughn, and Tim Murphy of Missoula.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel. There will be a reception in the Daly-Leach Community Room following the conclusion of the services. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
