Derry Kempf, 81 of Darby Passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home in Darby. He was born April 23, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to R.J and Thiel Kempf. He was raised in Milwaukee where he attended Nathan Hale High School and received many state championships as a violinist. After high school he joined the Air Force where he was honorably discharged.
He relocated to Southern California where he attended college at USC. He received his B.A. degree in musical arts. Later he attained his real estate license and moved to the high desert to pursue his career. During this time he met his wife Candy and her two children, Shaun and Emily. They had their daughter Cassy and a few years later moved to Darby, Montana where they raised their children.
Since being in the valley, Derry had spent many years volunteering for Hospice, driving for the Veterans and working for RSVP. Derry has touched so many lives with his kindness and generosity. He will be missed by each and every one who was blessed to have known him.
Derry is survived by his wife Candy of 21 years, his children, Cassy of Darby, Shaun (Julie) of Hamilton, Emily (Matthew) of Stevensville, five grandchildren and two brothers.
His service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Christ, 701 Adirondac in Hamilton with Pastor Victor Parakhan will officiate. A reception will follow the service at Daly-Leach Community Room.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Marcus Daly Hospice and/or The American Cancer Society.
