Dirk Roy Reister

HAMILTON - Dirk Roy Reister, 56, of Hamilton passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was born December 17, 1958 in Townsend, MT the son of LeRoy Reister and Margo Dale.

Dirk attended kindergarten in Miles City and first grade in Helen and Butte. He graduated from Butte High School in 1977. Dirk married the love of his life, Kimberly Blohm in Miami, OK on February 13, 1985 to which one child was born, Derris Roy (Pete) Reister.

Dirk started his working career early on by going to his beloved aunt and uncle, Ray and Betty Horne's home in Townsend having the time of his life and learning how to farm. He also worked for Mark Johnson's Car Lot in Butte, the Burlington Northern Railroad and later for ASRC in Alaska, retiring in 2014 after back surgery.

Dirk knew no stranger and was eager to talk cars to anyone. He would drop whatever he was doing to help anyone with a problem. Dirk's first love was spending time with his wife and son, his second was barbequing. He was known as the "Grill Master", BBQing for his family and friends. His love of cars was well known to all.

Dirk is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kimberly, of Hamilton; his son, Derris of Hamilton; his father, LeRoy of Twin Bridges; his mother, Margo of Hamilton; his sister, Marjo Hoppe of Great Falls; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, his beloved friends, and his faithful dog, Diesel. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julius and Elsie Reister and Abraham and Amy Fandrich.

Dirk was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
