Dolores Golden, 91, of Hamilton, Montana passed away Friday, November 3, 2012 with her family at her side. She was born August 4, 1921 in San Luis, Colorado to Vincent and Lucia Vigil.
In his early years, Dolores attended Sisters of Mercy School in San Luis, Colorado with her five sisters. After graduating she took nurses training in Colorado Springs and Denver. While working as a nurse she met and married Jack Golden on July 21, 1954.
Jack and Dolores lived in Hawaii two years and then moved to Bozeman, Montana so that Jack could attend college. After Jack received his Masters Degree they moved to Guernsey, Wyoming and lived there for 25 years. In later years they retired to Hamilton, Montana.
Dolores enjoyed family and spending time with her husband Jack. Dolores taught CCD at St. Anthony's Parish in Guernsey for 15 years. She was active in Veteran's of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and AARP.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters. Dolores is survived by six children, Patrick (Eloise) Golden of Fresno, California; James Golden of Reno, Nevada; Michael Golden of Hamilton, Paul (Omjai) Golden of Albuquerque, NM, Anita (Mark) Mora, of Hamilton, and Luci (Dan) Golden-Moxley of Hamilton; and 11 grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or Marcus Daly Hospice of the Bitterroot.
