Dolores Huggans

CONNER - Dolores Huggans, 93, of Conner, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, John. Dolores was born October, 4 1922, in Butte, Mt., one of seven children born to Dennis and Mary Harrington. Dolores moved to the Bitterroot at a young age. She attended the old Curlew School and Victor High School.

During the 1930s Dolores picked sugar beets in Stevensville. From 1939 to 1999, she raised mink with her husband in Conner, Montana.  Dolores was a memorial chairman volunteer for the American Cancer Society for 30 years and she was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church in Darby.  Dolores enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching Griz football on T.V., cooking, picking huckleberries, camping at Horse Creek Springs and traveling the world.

Survivors include her three children, Dan (Millo) Huggans of Hamilton, Mary Bowd of Bigfork, and Eric Huggans of Conner; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandch ildren; her sister, Evelyn Fifield of Darby; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Daly Leach Chapel on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7th at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Darby with interment to follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Darby.

The family would like to thank the hospice nurses Rosa Huesen, Linda Lis, Chris Bramson, Kathy Jeffordo, Lori Wittman, and Lindy Wemple at the Marcus Daly Hospice Center.
