HAMILTON - Donald G. Wells, of Hamilton, MT, passed away January 10th at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula, he was 76. He was the second son born to John R. and Virginia (Harland) Wells (1945) in St. Louis, Missouri. He would be joined by five additional brothers and sisters. He graduated from McKinley High School and was in tech school in Louisville, Kentucky, when he volunteered for the Air Force in 1966. After serving his country he made Billings, MT, his home before moving to the Bitterroot. Don married Marilyn (Geertz) in 1968 and they had 2 daughters; Tracey and Tina. They later divorced. In 1981 he married Jolie Dye and they spent 42 adventurous and interesting years together. Daughter Jessica joined them in 1983. He worked in the electronics field all of his career, finishing it up as an electrician. His work took him all over the western states, making lifelong friends where ever he went. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting, fishing, and archery. He especially enjoyed waking Jolie at 6:00AM to go fishing! He was very proud of his Trails End bow made by his father-in-law Dale Dye. He is survived by his wife Jolie, daughter Jessica and husband Gary Gillette, grandson Tyler Gillette, and granddaughter Willo Wells. His daughters of Billings; Tracey and husband Brian Gouldsberry, and Tina Wells and Jeremy Mode (son-in-law in training), a sister and brother of Missouri. Mother-in-law Barbara Dye. Sister-in-law Bobbi Dye and nephew Cameron Taylor-Dye. He requested no services and the family will scatter his ashes in his happy hunting grounds later this summer.
