Donna Mae Green

FLORENCE, Montana: Donna Mae Green was born December 31, 1938 to Adolph Albert Blum and Vida Constance Richardson Blum in Rushville, Nebraska. Donna was the 5th of 6 children. She died of natural causes October 16th 2010 at the Marcus Daly Hospice Center in Hamilton, Montana.
Donna attended school in Bayard, Nebraska. She graduated High School from Bridgeport, Nebraska. Donna's first marriage to Robert Jayne ended in divorce. While working at JC Penny's in Sheridan Wyoming, she met the love of her life, Ralph F. Green. In a whirlwind romance they married 3 months later and settled at Ralph's ranch in Superior, Montana for 10 years. After their 3rd child was born in 1966 they sold the ranch and bought a motel in Missoula they proudly called the Green's Sweet Rest Motel which they operated as a family business for 19 years. During her children's school years Donna worked at the Frenchtown Grade School Lunch Program which she enjoyed and made many wonderful friends. Donna enjoyed her grandchildren, her adventures with her family on their numerous hunting and fishing trips, crossword and sudoku puzzles, and playing cards. She was a wonderful cook, her meals admired by all of her children's friends. In 1993 Ralph and Donna sold the Sweet Rest Motel and retired to Florence, Montana, where they remained until their deaths.
Donna's greatest asset was her ability to be versatile in her role as wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and counselor. Her patient, kind, flexible temperament enhanced her 47 year marriage to Ralph. She followed him to each end of the North American continent and was his constant helpmate and companion. She had many, many adventures with Ralph and her children that she cherished all of her life. After Ralph's death she took over as the family storyteller. She was always willing to listen and offer her council, support, and encouragement to anyone who desired her wisdom and support.
Donna is survived by her children. Todd Green (Joyce) of Frenchtown, MT; Quayne Green (Marina) of Coeur D Alene, ID; Kimbra Huenergardt (Randy) of Florence, MT. Step Children; Gaylord Green (Marsha) of More, CA, Shirley Cannon (Chuck) of Point Roberts, WA; Terry Wayman (Clara) of Salt Lake City, UT; Tim Green (Leanna) of Missoula, MT; sister, Barbara McLelland of Clarkston, WA; brother Dennis Blum (Beverly Aker) of Centralia, WA; niece Patricia Clizbe (Merle)of East Missoula, MT; long time friend, Vicky Mott of Florence, Mt. 15 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph in 2008; her parents, Adolph and Vida; brothers, Richard and Robert; sister, Irene; nephew, Richard Keil.
