Doris Loree (Procopio) Mclaren

April 22, 1925 — November 30, 2015

Missoula - Doris L. (Procopio) Strack McLaren, 90 of Missoula passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2015 at St. Patrick Hospital. She was born April 22, 1925 in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of the late Saverio F. and Elva L. (Roberts) Procopio.

Doris moved to Elk City, Idaho in 1943 where she worked at Nitz Grocery. She also purchased and operated the Elk City Hotel. In 1963 she moved to Helena, Montana and worked at The Globe, Clover Leaf Dairy and Montana Highway Patrol. In 1978 she relocated to Missoula, where she was employed by Montana Power until retiring. She was an accomplished seamstress who also took delight in crocheting and knitting winter wear for the needy.

Doris is survived by sons; Richard (Sharon) Procopio of Polson, Jon (Carrie) Strack of Missoula and daughter Dixie (John) Wilcox of Meridian, Idaho; 8 grandchildren, CleAnn Undem, Mark Procopio; Jesse Strack, Jacob Strack, Natalie Chavez, Erin Jensen, Ashley Carlson and Justin Wilcox; 14 great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Peggy (Bob) Russell and Sharon (Jerry) West. She was preceded in death by Lester J. Strack and Robert G. McLaren.

The family would like to thank the many friends and caregivers who loved and supported Doris through the years. A celebration of life will be scheduled for the summer of 2016.
