Doris L. Stewart

Doris L. Stewart, 88, of Darby, passed away Thursday, October 5th at the Discovery Care Centre in Hamilton Montana.  She was born January 30, 1932 in Willow Springs, Missouri.  Doris’s family migrated to Vale, Oregon when she was a teenager. Doris’ whole family worked in the fields as pickers, to make ends meet.  Doris met Robert (Bob) Stewart, the love of her life, who worked on his family dairy farm/ranch in Vale, whom she later married at the age of 16.

Doris and Bob became parents of twins in 1951.  Doris’s whole world was loving and caring for her family including her parents and grandparents.  She was an excellent cook, gardener, and seamstress.

Doris was preceded in death by her son Leslie Rae (1975) and husband Robert (2013).  She is survived by her daughter Linda Cae (Stewart) Richter and husband Ron; two grandchildren, Stewart and Denali Richter.
