Dorothy Dickerson

STEVENSVILLE - Dorothy Dickerson, age 94, of Stevensville died at her residence on May 23, 2012. She was born in Creston, Iowa to Fielden and Pearl Chandler on March 14, 1918.

While living and working in Minnesota, she met George Dickerson. They were married on May 25, 1935. They moved to the Bitterroot valley and settled in Stevensville in 1945. Dorothy was active in the local community affairs where she and George owned and operated a painting retail and contracting business until retirement in 1977. Dorothy was one of the early members in the Stevensville Saddle Club, organizing member of the local business and professional women's group, and an enthusiastic and longstanding member of the Rebeccas.

She continued to reside in Stevensville after her husband's death until 2003. She moved to Hunter's Glen facility in Missoula, and later moved to the Bitterroot Living center until her death.

She is survived by her two sons, Fielden (Darlene) of Vienna, VA and Delos (Sylvia) of Stevensville, grandchildren Kevin Dickerson, Karri Lawson, Karla Rocheleau (Rick), Nancy Hanson (Chris), John Dickerson (Shannon), and Susan Dickerson (Magill), and nine great grandchildren.
