HAMILTON - Dorothy Marie Langevin, (Mom to her girls, and Marie to most who knew her) passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, in the comforts of her home. Mom was born on February 24th, 1939, in Butte, Montana, to her loving parents Dorothy and Walter Erickson.
She was a graduate of Butte High school and until her marriage, she was employed at Harrington's Ice Cream Store in Butte.
On Saturday, the fourth day of August, nineteen hundred and fifty-six at nine o'clock in the morning she married our Dad, Frank Langevin Jr. They were married at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Butte, Montana. After the wedding, they honeymooned on the Pacific Coast and later moved to Utah.
Mom and Dad were married for 66 years and had four girls. (Dad recently passed this past October). During our lives Dad had different jobs that took us places in Montana where we made our family home. Always a lot of love in those homes.
Mom attended and graduated from Mr. Rich's Beauty College in Missoula, where she became a Cosmetologist. Dad built her a beauty shop in the back of our house in Missoula. From there we moved to Hamilton, where she still kept doing what she loved to do.
Mom had other passions too, she started "Gramma-ries Bitterroot Porcelain. There she had classes for anyone that wanted to work on China, and porcelain. You name it mom could do it. She painted like an angel, and her talent, well out of this world. She was still painting up to her passing.
Our Mom had a lot of sadness in her life, with the death of her third daughter Sherry who died of cancer in 1980, and then her grandson Michael in 1989. Mom and Dad, after Sherry's death, started a Hospice Group in Hamilton. They also fostered kids through the State of Montana, and brought them into their home, to give them a better life.
She passed away peacefully, December 18th, at our family home in Hamilton at the age of 83. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Frank, parents Walter and Dorothy Erickson, and a brother, Robert W. Erickson. Also as mentioned above, daughter Sherry and grandson Michael.
Mom leaves behind three daughters, Nora (Terry, recently passed 12/4/2022)Schallenberger, Laura Notman, Frannie Langevin; and her brother, Jack (Linda) Erickson; five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
