Upon retirement they moved to Polson, Montana where they owned a home on the East Shore of Flathead Lake. Here they enjoyed life sailing, fishing, gardening and creating wonderful memories with family and friends. Jack passed away in 2000 and a few years later Dottie moved to Hamilton Montana to be closer to family, spending summers at the lake house.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Meyerhofer; her parents, Arthur and Rose Buchheim; her children's father, Earl M. Strong; sisters, Fran Harvey, Edna Thurman, Jerry Churchman, May Gates; and her brother, Howard Buchheim.

As he always said over their evening wine; "Here's to Dottie"
