HAMILTON - Long term Bitterroot resident Dove Duus passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Vancouver, Washington on August 10th. Dove was born in 1929 in Lewiston, Montana and her family moved to Stevensville in her early childhood.
Dove graduated from Stevensville High School and worked for Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator. She married Charles (Chuck) Duus in 1948 and moved to Hamilton. Dove enjoyed nature and gardening and was blessed to live in the splendor of the Bitterroot Valley.
She was preceded in death by Charles, her husband of 65 years; her parents, Thomas and Florence Rodgers of Hamilton; her sister, Eunice Nelson of Laramie, Wyoming; and her brother, Virl Rodgers of Yoncalla, Oregon. She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Vandegenachte of Stevensville; son, Charles Duus, Jr. of Vancouver, Washington; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel, 1010 W. Main Street, Hamilton, Montana at 11:00 am on Friday, September 8th with a reception following in the funeral home’s community room. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
