Doyle L. Hobbs

Doyle L Hobbs, 81, of Hamilton pass away Friday, October 12, 2012 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. He was born June 25, 1931 in St Louis, Missouri the son of the late Howard and Velma (Riggs) Hobbs.
After high school Doyle joined the Navy in 1956 with his brother Dale Hobbs. They spent two years on a ship in San Diego.
Doyle married Nancy J Frisbee in 1960 in Reno, NV and had four children; Craig, Kevin, Deana and Carla. Doyle work for Proctor and Gamble for years until he decided he wanted to move to Montana. In 1973, Doyle packed up the family and moved to Sula, Montana where he and Nancy purchased the Sula Store. Doyle loved living there and spent much of his time hunting, fishing and visiting with customers. He then became the Conner Post Master in Conner for over 30 years. He loved his customers and his customers loved him. Doyle retired last year from the post office to take care of his wife of 52 years.
Doyle's other big love is football and the Raiders, which he passed along to his son Craig Hobbs. Doyle's biggest loss was when Nancy passed away on June 12, 2012. It broke his heart completely. There was never a day that went by that he didn't talk about her and tear up with a lump in his throat. Their love was just like the movie "The Notebook."
Doyle was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hobbs; parents, Howard and Velma Hobbs; son, Kevin Hobbs; son-in-law, Shane Day; and sister-in-law, Beverly Hobbs.
Doyle is survived by his brothers, Dolan (Yvonne) Hobbs of Elk Grove, CA and Dale Hobbs of Loomis, Ca.; children, Craig Hobbs of Hamilton, Deana (Derrick) Wood with granddaughter, Randee Skelton of Corvallis; Carla Day with grandson, Dylon Day and granddaughter, Cassidy Day of Corvallis ;several nieces and nephews.
