Duel H. Vegoren

HAMILTON - Duel H. Vegoren, 45, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula. He was born March 14, 1971 in Hamilton, Montana, the son of Trudy (Sanderson) Vegoren and the late Jim Vegoren.

Duel married his wife Marjorie (Turner) Vegoren 23 years ago on July 10, 1993. He was a carpenter and heavy equipment engineer, and a true craftsman. Duel could build or fix anything. He loved to hunt and fish, and hunt for treasures in the woods. He was resourceful, hard-working, and generous and has touched our Valley in ways that can never be fully realized. Many will remember him for the person who could be called upon for help in any situation.

Duel had a creative side and in recent years created many original art displays which showed his love of history. Duel recently became interested in aviation and was able in his last few weeks of life to fly a plane. His generosity was unparalleled as was his passion for being among the pines. Duel will forever be remembered as being tough as nails with a heart of gold. He both protected and loved his family fiercely. His eyes told no lies.

Duel is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his mother, Trudy; his daughters, Jordin, Josie, and Gracie; his sons, Damon and Hudson; his niece, Ashleigh; four grandchildren; his brother, Matt, and sisters, Holli and Lani.

Memorial services will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel with Justin Merth officiating with a reception to follow in the funeral home’s community room.
