Edward B. Rose

Edward B. Rose, 72, of Corvallis passed away on Wednesday November 18th, 2020 at Community Hospital in Missoula, Montana.  He was born on January 22th 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John V Rose and Susanna (Gupp) Rose.

Ed met the love of his life, wife Sandra B (Dolence) Rose while still in high school, and they were married on August 24, 1968.  Ed was an outstanding trumpet player in the band and even had a solo in the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City.

In 1976, Ed moved his family from Pittsburgh to Hamilton to join his brother, John, in starting an Outfitting and Guide business which then led to many hours spent sharing hunting and fishing tall tales around the kitchen table.

He started his career as a real estate appraiser with business partner Carl Hopkin in 1987 and together they founded his longtime local business, C & E appraisal service, Hamilton.

As an avid Hunter and fisherman who loved spending time on his boat or talking about an upcoming hunt.  Ed had a passion for the outdoors that included participating in the local trap shooting league, sponsoring wildlife preservation associations and anything that took him into the great outdoors.

Ed was an outstanding pool player and longtime member of the local pool league, winning several trips to Las Vegas to compete. Over his years of play he was one of the oldest members of the league.

Ed had a passion for helping others and volunteered with the Winter Special Olympics for 23 years. He would look forward to his time every winter to be on the mountain with the kids.

Ed is survived by his wife Sandy of Corvallis; a son and daughter, son Edward (Duke) and wife Sherry of Hamilton, his granddaughters Sydni and Alyson, his daughter Victoria and husband Tony of Silt, Colorado, brothers John and Dan Rose of Hamilton, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to current circumstances, a memorial will be held in the spring which is still to be determined at a later date.
