Ellen Reid Jernigan

Hamilton - Ellen Reid Jernigan, 84 of Hamilton passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.
She was born September 23, 1924 in Victor, Montana to the late Mark and Myrtle Cook. She graduated from Victor High School in the class of 1942.
Ellen married Clarence "Lee" Reid on September 3, 1949 and following his death married H.B. Jernigan on February 6, 1979. Ellen worked for years with her husband Lee on the ranch and doing carpentry work. Ellen worked as a cook and Valley View Estates for almost 20 years.
She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, gardening vegetables and flowers; her favorite was roses. She loved the grand ole opry and old time hymns. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She was an avid sports fan including, Montana Grizzly Football, Hamilton High School Football, Lady Grizzly Basketball and always listened to the games on the radio.
Ellen was a loving, caring and non-judgmental person. She was honest, compassionate and hard working, she was my hero.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Reid, husband H.B. Jernigan; brothers, Ralph, Oscar, Frank, Carl, Albert, Harlan and Howard.
Surviving include her son, Al (Doreen) Reid of Yellowknife, NT, Canada; granddaughters, Tawnya, Teri and Missy Reid all of Spokane, WA.; great granddaughter, Tabitha Reid of Spokane, WA.; son Jack Reid of Spokane, WA.; granddaughter, Jolene Taylor of Florida; special friend and companion Dick Clark of Hamilton.
