Corvallis - Emogene (Jean) Spann, 94, of Corvallis passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at her home. She was born on August 27, 1920 in Albion, Nebraska.
Jean met her husband, Kenneth Spann at Wayne State College, in Wayne, Nebraska and were married at St. John's Episcopal Church in Montgomery, Alabama on June 5. 1943. Jean taught school in Nebraska and worked as a secretary to the State Superintendent of Schools in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Ken and Jean moved to the Seattle area after the war and lived there for 50 years before moving to the Bitterroot Valley in 1999.
Family and friends will remember the love between Ken and Jean, and Jean's strength and determination.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her sister, Jane and brother, Hadley.
She is survived by her son, Tom Spann and his wife, Kai of Bothell, Washington; niece, Sally Shrouder of Oklahoma; and many cousins.
