Evelyn R. Halverson

Evelyn Rowena Halverson, 73, of Hamilton, Montana passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 at the bitterroot Hospital ICU from complications with pneumonia. She was born March 17, 1950, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Sherman Wilcox and Marjorie Ooley.

She was blessed in life with two loves: her soul-mate Greg Halverson and her great and last love Art Galindo. She had qreat adventures with her best friend and sister Joyce Glick; and, morning coffee and birthday celebrations with friend and confidante Penny Bush.

Evelyn had three daughters whom she described as her greatest achievements: Joyce Halverson, Alex Galindo, and Rachel Halverson. She won the heart of son-in-law Issac Monson, who became her greatest advocate as she faced life's challenges. She loved and adored her grandchildren Alyssa Faye and Little Issac. Her face lit up when grandsons Remington & Manny surprised her for her 73rd birthday and took her bowling and when LilyAnna and Arther-Ann had a sleepover and got some of grandma's trinkets. Her last thoughts were of her great love Lyla Faye whose bond was unbreakable and the light of her life.

When she was young, she enjoyed fishing with her beloved brothers Carl and Buzz. She adored her youngest brother Joe despite a 14 year age gap.

She enjoyed making holidays special and loving with the yearly reading of "A 29 Cent Christmas" followed by the "Christmas Pie" activity, she created usinq the "Little Jack Horner" poem. She loved to decorate her home and crafting and her flocked Christmas tress done in purple and turquoise were legendary.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU/ Trauma ER staff and critical care teams at Bitterroot Hospital. Special thanks to ICU Nurse Denise for her tender care, support, and love.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her love Art, her brothers Sherman "Buzz" and Carl Lee, and her niece Carlee.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Halverson (Issac Monson), Alex Galindo-Sanchez (Anthony Sanchez), Rachel Halverson (Ron Koehler); Sister Joyce Glick; Brother Joe Childress; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
