Francis B. Hernandez of Jackson passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Bitterroot Health Hospital in Hamilton.
Francis was born in Hamilton, Montana January 3, 1974. Francis loved camping with all of us kids, fishing, logging and anything to do with chain saws.
Francis grew up in Darby, MT. She is survived by her life partner Brandi Walters; children Kaih, Kamron and Kendra; mother Arlene Nelson; brothers Andy Hernandez and Cory Nelson; numerous aunts and uncles and cousins; and best friends Tanya Henry and Barbara O'Connell. She was preceded in death by her brother Bobby McCleod, fathers Fred Nelson and Robert McCleod.
Francis took a lot of pride in what she did for everyone she new. She was very kind and had a great heart with everyone that was around. You couldn’t have asked for a better daughter, mother, cousin and friend in the world.
She went to Darby High School then went to the Anaconda Job Corps to learn to be a carpenter. She was a very handy woman with a lot of knowledge to work on anything from driftwood to cars and trucks to logging equipment and carpentry.
Francis loved being outdoors especially Sam Billings fishing access, Lake Como, Lost Trail and Blodgett. Her heart and love was for Lake Como and she enjoyed all of her time there.
She loved all of her grandkids, they were the world to her. If the grandkids were over that was what mom did for the day.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton followed by a gathering to remember her life at Lake Como. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com
