Frances M. Metcalf

HAMILTON - Frances M. Metcalf, 88, of Hamilton passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Missoula of natural causes. Mom was 1 month short of her 89th birthday. She was born in Baker, MT on December 26, 1925.
Mom moved to the Bitterroot in 1939 with her family and called the Bitterroot her home. She did spend 3 years in Malta, MT to be closer to her sons. Mom came back to the Bitterroot 2 A½ years ago and lived happily at the Remington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Metcalf; her parents, Franklin and Loris Stanhope; her brothers, Ralph and Orville Stanhope; 2 daughters-in-law, Soni Metcalf and Mary Metcalf; and her son-in-law, Larry Martensen. Mom is survived by her son, Bruce Metcalf of Saco, MT, daughter, Terri Martensen of Missoula; daughter and son-in-law, Jerri and Gary Rennaker of Puyallup, WA; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Jennifer Metcalf of Malta; and 2 brothers, Darrell and Merle Stanhope both of Washington. She was a grandmother of 10, a great-grandmother of 25 and a great-great-grandmother of 3.

Mom loved to bake "goodies" and be with her family and friends. She was a very social person and loved to smile.

Mom would want to thank the staff at the Remington for their kindness and care she was given.
