Francis R. Dean

Francis R. Dean, 87 of Corvallis passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home.

Francis was born August 26, 1930 in Smith, Nevada the son of the late Earl and Radley Dean.  He graduated from Smith Valley High School.  He married Leola Meyers on June 4, 1949 in Tumwater, Washington.  Francis was a Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacquelyn Opris; parents; brothers, Earl and Harold; and sisters, Eula McAllister and Margie Brown.

Surviving include his wife, Leola Dean of Corvallis; daughter, Jenifer Dean of Corvallis; granddaughters, Emily Nail of Gillette, WY., Ashley (Jordan) Summers of Stevensville, MT and Oshen Yellowrobe of Corvallis, MT; great grandchildren, Chase, Haylee and Sadie Summers.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Daly-Leach Chapel with Pastor Doug Peterson officiating.  Interment will take place at Corvallis Cemetery with military honors presented by the Corvallis American Legion.

The family suggests memorials to Shriner’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
