Gary Lynn Christopherson, 76, of Darby Montana, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at his home. He was born on October 13, 1945, in Seattle, Washington, to Lynn and Vera (Weeks) Christopherson.
Gary was raised on a ranch in Darby, Montana, with his sister, Linda. He graduated from Darby High School, in 1964, and then attended National Electronics Institute in Denver, Colorado, before working for Boeing.
While working in Seattle, he met and married his first wife, Dana Lindman, but later divorced. Gary moved back to Darby, and married Karla Kay in 1977, and had three sons, Lafe, Dalton, and Scott. Gary was widowed, and lost his son Scott, in 1986. He continued to run the family ranch and worked as Operator for the State of Montana for 30 years. He later married Christy Borges and adopted her son, Christopher, and became a stepfather to Jessica. They later divorced.
Gary was an active member of the JayCees and helped organize the original Darby Logger Days. Gary was an avid coin collector, hunter, fisherman and all-around great cowboy.
He was survived by the love of his life, Charlotte Davis. The pair had been together for 18 years and shared a love of travailing, fishing, and spending time with family. He left behind his sons, Lafe and wife Lisa Fiorini, and Dalton and wife Ashley Dutton; his 4 grandchildren, Reagan, Clark, Adalynn, and Maddox.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Darby Clubhouse.
