CORVALLIS - Georgia (Marcie) Brisendine passed away on January 6, 2025. Born in Bittner, PA, Marcie was raised in the tough coal mining community. She eventually moved to the west coast where she met and married her husband, Edwin Brisendine.
They built their first home in Maple Valley, WA and later settled in Auburn, WA with their five children. As the matriarch of the Brisendine family, Marcie was known for her comforting baked goods, cozy homemade quilts, and meals (taco night) that brought the entire family together. She was also well known for spoiling all the children in her life.
Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren would never face the difficulties she did as a child if she had anything to do with it. She was always sneaking toys and sugary snacks to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We remember grandma being the person we would call from school when we were “sick,” which was really just an excuse to go enjoy a meal at Trotters or Mazatlán with grandma. Grandma worked hard all her life. Even up to her last days, she always struggled accepting help. You could find her quilts for sale alongside grandpa’s jewelry at the farmer’s market and local Christmas bazars.
She is survived by her four living children: Joe, Cindy, Linda, and Lori. She blessed eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren in her life. Her last days were spent at the Majestic where she was pampered and loved by her family and the staff. Marci has gone to heaven to meet her husband and the son they lost at a young age.
No formal services will be held. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
