Gladys Montana Buhl Jimeno

CORVALLIS - Gladys Montana Buhl Jimeno, 93, of Corvallis, died of natural causes on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. She was born in Lewistown, Montana, on February 24, 1920. Gladys is the daughter of the late Fred and Mae Alice Buhl.

Gladys married the late Max Jimeno on September 8, 1938. In early 1940s, they moved to the Bitterroot Valley and purchased a farm and apple orchard. Valley residents enjoyed their fine tasting Macintosh apples and cider for many years.

Gladys received her K-8 education in Butte, her GED and LPN at the Missoula Vo-Tech Center. She is known for her work ethic, her dedication to her religious group (Nondenominational Christians), the farm, her nursing profession and her commitment to her husband and her children.

Survivors include her daughters, Adriana "Ann" O'Brien and her husband Pat of Poplar, Montana; Gladys Jimeno of Spokane, Washington; Carol Jimeno of Bellingham, Washington, and Cheri Jimeno and husband, Tom Yahraes of Alamogordo, New Mexico; son, Gerald and his wife Jane Jimeno of Libby, Montana; brother, Orphus (Shorty) Buhl of Wardner, ID; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Max, her son Max Jr., grandson Terry Smith, Four brothers (Orris, Kenneth, Merlin and Orvil) and two sisters (Thelma and Mertis).
