Glen Wesley Scanland

Glen Wesley Scanland was born February 25, 1927 in Butte, Montana to Lisle and Alice Scanland and passed away quietly at home June 1, 2015.
The family moved around some but settled on the property North and East of Corvallis in 1937. He went to school at Corvallis. Glen has resided there ever since.
On April 7, 1953, Glen married Leona Myers and they have ranched and raised their family next door. In his working career of many years, Glen has had some interesting work, including working on the Rural Electric crew that moved and set up power poles with horses, bringing power around Sula Peak and into the East Fork of the Bitterroot. Every fall for nearly a decade Glen worked at the Sugar Beet factory in Missoula. For 21 summers, Glen and Leona gathered up produce in the valley and peddled right to the ranches in and around Wisdom and Jackson. In the early 1960's Glen learned to shear sheep, his career sheep shearing lasted over 35 years.
Glen's lifetime Christian faith has been a real influence on himself and others. He professed that commitment in his early teens and has kept that faith.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Lisle and Alice.
Survivors include Leona his wife and lifetime partner of 62 years; children, Duane (Mary Ann), Elmer, all who reside at the family farm in Corvallis, Lois who is presently working as a missionary in Argentina; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
