Helen "Kathy" Quinn

July 20, 1956 — February 12, 2015

Helen Kathy Quinn, 58, of Hamilton, MT passed away from heart failure Feb 12, 2015.

Kathy was born at Pepperrell Air Force Base military hospital in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada on July 20, 1956. Kathy traveled and lived in Okinawa, Montauk, NY and various other military base locations. Much of Kathy's childhood was spent between Shalimar, FL and Mullins, SC where some of her fondest memories of sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles were made.

While working as a waitress at Angelos Steak Pit in Panama City, FL on July 2, 1975 Kathy met a busboy named Thomas Quinn. They married and never parted from that day forth. They moved together to St Paul, MN and in 1984 bought a small hobby farm in Stacy, MN where they raised three beautiful children. Kathy lost her first child (Stacy) from a miscarriage but cherished the day she would meet her/him in heaven. 12 years later the family moved to Hamilton, MT during the winter blizzard of 1996/1997, purchased a couple of acres, and built their beautiful homestead where Thomas and his children reside to this day.

Kathy's first passion and proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother and raising her children. She absolutely loved cooking for her family, partially home-schooling her children and taking them on adventures, and most importantly, raising them to love the Lord in a grounded Christian life. Kathy's second passion was working with the special needs children at Corvallis Elementary. She was a truly generous human being and the children adored her compassion. Anyone who knew Kathy knew that she remained intensely close to Jesus and let him guide her in all her decisions.

Kathy won many championship awards at the local fair with her wonderful jams, jellies and baked goods including Grand Champion of baked goods in 2005. She felt all her ribbons were testimony to her devotion of being a stay-at-home mother and was immensely proud of them, as we were immensely proud of her.

Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Helen Francine White and her father Lonnie White Jr. Kathy is survived by her husband Thomas, two sons Timothy and Andrew, and daughter Tristin, all of Hamilton, sisters Jeannie Monroe (Alexandria, VA), Launa Byrd (Shalimar, FL), and Diane Huckabone (Fort Walton Beach, FL), and multiple nephews, nieces and friends.
