Helen Judith Searcy

HAMILTON - Helen Judith Searcy, 85, of Hamilton passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was born February 21, 1924 in Randolph, UT the daughter of Stanley M. and Margaret (Nicholls) Wilson.

Helen moved to the Bitterroot Valley in 1948 following the death of her first husband. She remarried Eugene R. Searcy in September of 1958. Helen began her career working at Bitterroot Laundry in 1966 and remained there for 35 years until retiring.

Helen was preceded in death by her son, Jim Chavez; her parents; and her husband, Eugene R. Searcy. She is survived by her brothers, William B. Wilson and family and Stanley Wilson and family; her children, Ralph Chavez and family, Wayne Chavez and wife Susan and family, Margaret Hansen and husband Harmon and family and Tom Searcy and wife Karen and family; her extended family, Ray and Nadene Searcy and Lyla and Jim King; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and 61 years of friends and neighbors in the Bitterroot.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Helen's name to the Marcus Daly Hospice Endowment Fund, 1200 Westwood Drive, Hamilton, MT 59840.
