Helen Elizabeth Van Brunt

HAMILTON - Helen E. Van Brunt, 91, of Hamilton passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center. She was born December 7, 1917 in Sun River, MT the daughter of Martin and Alma (Odegard) Roseburg.

Helen was raised and educated around Montana. She married Jacob Van Brunt on January 30, 1940 in Conrad, MT. Helen and Jacob farmed in Choteau, MT and then moved to Saskatchewan, Canada and continued farming until they retired in 1986. They moved to Southern California where they lived until moving to the Bitterroot Valley in 1996.

Helen was a member of the Methodist Church in Choteau. She enjoyed playing the organ, cooking and she loved all animals. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jacob, in 2003; and her son, John, in 2000. She is survived by her sister, Doris Englund of Hamilton; 2 brothers, Robert Roseburg of Holtville, CA and Donald Roseburg and wife Clara of West Glacier, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Helen's name to the Marcus Daly Hospice Endowment Fund, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT 59840 or to the Bitterroot Humane Society, 262 Fairgrounds Rd., Hamilton, MT 59840.
