Howard R. Cornelisen

Howard Cornelisen, 92, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, January 07, 2009 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center from complications of Leukemia. He left the earth 3 days before his 66th wedding anniversary, with his wife Frances by his side.

Howard was born in Milbank, SD on September 2, 1916 and graduated from Milbank High School. During WWII he served in the 1st Army in the European Theater. In 1943, Howard married Frances Damerow and the two remained together until his passing. During their marriage, Barbara (Gibson) and Marsha (Reed) were born. Later 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren were added.

In 2003, Howard and Frances moved to Hamilton and joined the church family of Grace Lutheran Church.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Howard's name to the Grace Lutheran Church Learning Center, Scholarship Fund (275 Hattie Lane, Hamilton, 59840).
