Hamilton - Irene Rose, 86 of Hamilton, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Discovery Care Center in Hamilton.
She was born November 3, 1922 in Cheyenne County, Kansas in a sod house, to the lat Oraen and Mamie Taylor Draper. She attended Etna School and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1941.
On June 8, 1941 she married Alvie Rose. They had five children and lived on their farm east of Corvallis.
Irene was a member of the Hamilton Assembly of God Church.
Irene is survived by her children, Larry (Sandy) Rose, Wayne (Orvilla) Rose, Sandy (Ken) Kelnhofer, Neil (Barbara) Rose and Joyce (Carl) Brown; Grandchildren, Cindy Harper, Teri Albrecht, Robby and Randy Rose, Rebecca and Rachel Nickels, Chris and Jamie Rose, Jessica Bain, Jared and Josh Brown; several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvie, her brothers Charles, Lamar, Earl, Forrest, and Ray and her sister Hazel.
Irene loved to walk, fish, was talented at crocheting and crafts. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She spent countless hours helping and praying for others, and was a loving and caring person. She will be missed by many.
Her job titles include housekeeper, home health care worker and she was the famous "Salad maker" at the Grubstake for many years. The best job of all was "Greatest Mom."
Memorials can be made to the Hamilton Assembly of God or a charity of the donor's choice.
