Irene Scruggs

Irene Scruggs, 70, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Marcus Daly Hospital from a battle with illnesses. She was born August 29, 1938, the daughter of Harriet Snow Hornung and Charles Tooley.

Irene was born and raised in Hamilton. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1956. She was a dear friend to many and was instrumental in bringing classmates together for many years.

Irene had many hobbies and talents but her true passions were her family, her friends, fishing and picking berries. Irene loved to help people. She will be remembered for her generosity by both her friends and her family.

Irene is survived by her husband of 31 years, Vadan Scruggs; her daughter Marjie (Mo) Lough; sons Don Lough, Rick Lough, Vadan Lee Scruggs, and Russell Scruggs; grandsons David Lough, Brad Lough and Andrew Scruggs; granddaughters Alyssa Lough and Sabrina Scruggs; great granddaughter Hayden Howe; brothers Victor Lagerquist and Jack Lagerquist; aunts Mae Chaffin and Virginia Kindzerski; nieces Lynnie Lagerquist and Kara Lagerquist; and nephews Luke Lagerquist and John Lagerquist.
