Jack Allen Golden

Jack Allen Golden, 80, of Hamilton, Montana passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Discovery Care Center with his family at his side. He was born February 11, 1932 in Anaconda, Montana, the son of James Golden and Helen Vaughn.

In his early years, Jack attended school in Anaconda, Montana. After graduating from Anaconda High School, he attended Carroll College. He entered the Marine Corps and served his country in Korea. While in the military he met and married Dolores Vigil on July 21, 1954. After serving four years in the military he returned to school to earn his Bachelor's degree from Montana State University and later his Masters degree from the University of Montana.

Jack taught math and science at Guernsey-Sunrise High School in Guernsey, Wyoming for twenty years, then returned to Montana to teach at the University of Montana, making his new home in Hamilton, Montana. Jack retired from teaching in 1990.

Jack was a member and past Commander and Quartermaster of the VFW, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Lodge and past Treasurer of the AARP. He enjoyed family and spending time with his wife Dolores.

Jack is survived by his wife Dolores of Hamilton; six children, Patrick (Eloise) Golden of Fresno, California; James Golden of Reno, Nevada; Michael Golden of Hamilton, Paul (Omjai) Golden of Albuquerque, NM, Anita (Mark) Mora, of Hamilton, and Luci (Dan) Golden-Moxley of Hamilton; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hamilton. Private family interment will take place at San Luis, Colorado.

The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.
