James "Jim" Cutler Hixon Sr.

CORVALLIS - James Culter Hixon, Sr. 75 of Corvallis, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

He was born on February 27, 1947, in Monroe, Louisiana to Charles and Marguerite Hixon. He grew up in Louisiana and joined the U.S. Navy, in 1966. Jim met the love of his life, Dianne, and they moved to Montana, where they raised their 3 sons, Jim Jr., Beau, and Joe. Jim made his living working construction as a heavy equipment operator and foreman. He worked for many years with his good friend, Jim Clark.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dianne; and sister, Hanks.

He is survived by his brother, Charlie (Annie Ruth); sister, Brenda; brother, Joe (Kelly); sons, Jim Jr. (Tonya), Beau (Tami), and Joe (Shawna); grandchildren: Kylee, Jessie, Brendon, Sydnee, Jamisyn, and Joe Jr.; four great grandsons, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Daisy.

Jim was one of a kind. He was known by his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Meanie.” He was known as “Papaw” to the grandkids and great grandsons. He was the best Dad, brother, father-in-law, Papaw, and Grand dog sitter ever! His family was his world. He will be greatly missed.
