James "Jim" Carl York

On December 5, 2025, James (Jim) York passed away at St. Patrick Hospital, from natural causes. He was surrounded by his loved ones: Glenda, his wife of 55 years, and their sons Jimmy, John and Jayson. 

Jim was born on September 20,1949, in Great Falls, MT. Later, he and his family moved to Corvallis, MT where he was raised. After graduating from Corvallis High, he went on to Montana State University Northern (MSU-NORTHERN) in Havre, MT. where he received a degree in Architecture. He then went to work for York Construction, owned and operated by his father, where he learned and worked hard to become a general contractor. 

He enjoyed spending time with his sons and gave them each a little piece of his knowledge in hunting, fishing, hiking, spending time and learning together about the great outdoors and the beauty of the wilderness. He also loved teaching his two granddaughters, Adri and Madison. Those were very special memories to him. 

Jim leaves behind many friends and family who will laugh, cry, and remember what a special person he was. He touched the hearts of many. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James E. York and Naidine York. He leaves behind his wife Glenda, sons Jim (Lisa), John, Jayson (Calee); granddaughters Adriana De Los Santos and Madison York; great grandchildren, Harper and Zeke De Los Santos; sisters, Kathy (John Wood) Maureen (Ralph Mohay), Patty (Tim Near); a very special friend, Bob Sager; and several in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
