Jan M. Evered aka (Rooney) 61 of Victor, passed away Thursday December 1, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula of natural causes. He was born in Butte, MT on September 29, 1961 to Donna and Floyd Evered. After Floyd passed, Donna moved the large family of 12 kids to Missoula, where Jan went to Hellgate High School. He joined the Army in 1982 and he was honorably discharged in May of 83 due to health reasons.
He was a cook for many years at 4-B's and Montana Pies, and even Denny’s. In 1997, he graduated Diesel Mechanic school at the U of M. He also had a career in automotive, Midas, in Missoula, Les Schwab in Hamilton and in Stevensville. More recent he worked a couple years at Rangitsch Brothers RV in Missoula where he learned to repair RV's. He also worked on vehicles in his shop, he has been working on restoring a 74 Charger for years, (his baby).
He was an avid hunter and loved to fish, anything to be in the mountains and he was happy. He is survived by his wife Terri; his step-daughter, Chandell, and her husband Kyle, grandkids Jordan, Collin, Cameron, and Brayden; mother-in-law, Lois Friede of Victor; siblings, Paula, Nancy, Tom, Susan, Dean, Diane, Amy, and Jamie; his mother Donna, and so many nieces and nephews to list them all.
He was preceded in death by his father, older brothers Lynn, Kim and most recently his sister Merry.
A celebration of life will be held in spring of 2023.
