Jana Jo (Bay) Cerdena

CORVALLIS - Jana Jo (Bay) Cerdena passed away peacefully in her sleep on the evening of June 18, 2014. Jana was born to Howard and Janet (Marsh) Bay on January 7, 1965 in Renton, WA. Jana attended Primary, Middle and High School as well as College in western Washington.

Jana married Christian Cerdena on September 2, 1995 at the old Methodist Church in Corvallis, MT. The couple divorced but the culmination of that union provided the unmistakable light of Jana's life - Sarah Elaine Cerdena. Jana and Sarah relocated from the "2905" family home in Kent, WA to the Bitterroot Valley in January of 1999. Jana and Sarah were instantly and remained fast friends. Anybody and everybody that knew the pair marveled at the truly unique relationship that they shared. Jana gave it her all to provide Sarah every opportunity to succeed in her young life as well as affording Sarah the tools to move throughout her life with the confidence that anything is possible and achievable with God, goals, hard work and perseverance.

Jana and Sarah traveled together to destinations near and far. Jana's commitment to Sarah's love of dance afforded many a road trip to support Sarah competing in a myriad of dance competitions. Jana's level of pride for Sarah's dance achievement(s) was "Through the Roof" as Jana would often say. Day trips as well as overnighters were commonplace with this inseparable pair as well. Glacier National Park and points in Idaho and western Washington were among their favorites. Jana and Sarah traveled to France and Italy together as well.

Jana's affinity for giving was apparent in her career as well. She was a devoted Ravalli Services team member. Her title was Director of Finance but she much rather be referred to simply as Jana. She felt a strong family-like kinship with all of the Consumers and would stop at nothing to support their needs. She truly loved each and every Consumer and Staff member at Ravalli Services.

Jana Jo... Your passing was untimely but by the grace of God peaceful. For that we are all thankful. Rest with God little sister. Know that we will leave no stone unturned and no roadblock in place in order that Sarah Elaine (your Doodlebug) is successful at every turn!

Jana is survived by her daughter Sarah, her parents Howard and Janet, her Grandma (Ruth) Bay, her older brother Craig, her nephew Jason, her niece Emma, aunts (Carol Jo, Marilyn, Carol and Sandi), uncles (Calvin and Glenn), numerous cousins and dear friends. Jana was preceded in death by her Grandma Marsh, Grandpas Bay and Marsh as well as her little brother Kevin.
