Jane Elizabeth Joy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Joy, who left us on January 22nd, 2025. Jane was born on March 1, 1951, in Massachusetts, to Helen and Daniel LaChance. She grew up with a passion for education, which led her to pursue a teaching degree at Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. After earning her bachelor’s degree, Jane dedicated her life to education, shaping the minds and hearts of students in Victor, Darby, and Corvallis, where she touched countless lives and made a lasting impact on her community.

Jane was more than an educator; she was a mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity were felt by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving son Aaron, grandchildren Kiya, Aaliyah, and Damian, her brother John, and her nephew Danny, as well as many friends who became like family.

In her lifetime, Jane created a legacy of love, care, and commitment to those around her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit and the lessons she imparted will live on in the hearts of her family, students, and friends.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held on March 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, located on Lewis Lane in Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Corvallis Primary School in Jane's honor.
