Hamilton - Jean Louise (Wilson) Warner, 85, AKA Grandma Grape to her great grandchildren, passed away July 22, 2009 at her home. She was born September 2, 1923 in Darby, MT to Vearle Lowman Norman and Charles G. Norman.
Jean graduated from Darby High School in 1941 and married John Wilson in 1942. They lived in the Spokane area and returned to the Bitterroot Valley in 1961. She married Clayton Warner in 1967.
She enjoyed sewing, making many outfits for her family. Jean made her granddaughter's wedding dress, winning, "Best of Show" at the Ravalli County Fair. She also crocheted, knitted and embroidered. She loved to kick up her heels and dance, especially to the song "In the Mood." You could find her working in her flower garden or entertaining friends and family. Jean and Clayton traveled and often took their motor home joining friends for some fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton in 2005, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her son, Robert A. (Peg) Wilson of Corvallis and daughter Karen Wilson Brady of Des Moines, WA; step-daughters, Clayetta Taylor and Cheri Brinkman of Albuquerque, NM.; 4 grandchildren, John (Lori) Wilson, Dan Brady, Jeanna (Juan) Torres of Des Moines, WA. And Belle (Sandrow) Belanger of Stevensville; 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Florence Fadness and Velma Hargraves; special niece Rosalind (Jon) Lind and many other relatives; special neighbors, Bev, Denny and Karen.
The family suggests memorials be made in Jean's name to Marcus Daly Memorial Hospice, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT 59840.
