FLORENCE - Jerry “Jer Bear” David Kautzman was a caring and loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He left us too soon on May 22, 2024 at the age of 52. He was born in Moscow, ID on March 9, 1972 to Gary and Lee Kautzman. He was the 6th of 10 children.
After high school graduation he joined and served in the United States Air Force for 4 years followed by one year in the National Guard. He went on to work in several different careers including logistics manager, maintenance management, car wash manager, and owner of a hobby store due to his love of hobby toys. He was a kid at heart and would never pass up an opportunity to enter a toy shop for the latest Lego set, model, matchbox or radio controlled car.
His greatest love and proudest achievement is his son Trenton. He was very passionate about his food and was happiest while enjoying Chinese food (with the appropriate sweet and sour sauce), teriyaki, hot wings, Taco John’s and licorice ice cream and would take out-of-the way trips to obtain what he was craving. He had a natural way with his young nieces and nephews and so easily brought out the giggles. Little did he know that while doing so, he brought so much joy to those who observed him in those moments. He had a passion for jeeps, land cruisers, fast cars and boating on the open ocean. He loved having four little sisters that he could bribe with candy to make him his beloved sweet tea. He would make the T timeout sign and not say a word & they would know he was wanting his tea. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and was always smiling. He surprised many with his quick witted responses that brought laughter to all.
He is survived by his son, mother, 9 siblings & their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, and grandparents.
