Jimmy Lamarr Darr passed away on October 24th, 2019 at the Marcus Daly Hospice Center in Hamilton Montana. He was born on October 3rd, 1939 in Knox City Texas. Son of Robert Thomas Darr and Minnie Louise Darr.
Jim spent his youth on Pa Darr’s farm in Knox City Texas. His family relocated to Delano, California where they lived and worked on a Ranch and then a Dairy. The family settled in Imperial, California when he was in high school. He married and started a family in Imperial.
He went to Imperial Valley College and studied business. He served on the school board in Imperial and also was a substitute teacher. He had many jobs in business management starting with Imperial Irrigation District. He worked for a fertilizer company managed a Taco Bell and then a mechanical company. In 1972 that company transferred him to San Diego. He worked in Sales and eventually started his own mechanical company, Darr Mechanical.
While working in sales he earned many travel opportunities including Hawaii and Europe. They even visited Russia in the 70’s. He owned a Sailboat and enjoyed sailing the San Diego Bay. He coached Boys Club Soccer for 7 years, the highlight was taking the championship.
Jim retired and relocated to Hamilton Montana. He enjoyed fishing and the beautiful outdoors. He is survived by his partner Maryll Reagan from Hamilton, Montana and her family. His Ex-Wife Anna Lee Darr from El Cajon, California and their children Kevin Darr from El Cajon, California and his wife Stacy Darr and granddaughter Lily Darr. His daughter Jana Stenger from El Cajon, California and her husband Fred Stenger, grandchildren Bree Stenger, Dirk Stenger, Cortney Hunnitcutt and Shannon Pellatiro and 7 great grandchildren. His siblings R. Marley Darr, M. Don Darr, Wanda Lewis, & Sammye Mathews and their families.
