Joann Engbrecht

Joann Bessie Hudspeth Engbrecht passed away on December 30th, 2022 of natural causes. Joann was born to John D. Hudspeth and Elsie E. Pennick Hudspeth on July 7th 1933 in Marceline, MO. She met the love of her life, Oscar Clarence Engbrecht, on a blind date at a Navy ship dance and the two were wed shortly thereafter in August of 1953. After Oscar was discharged from the Navy, the couple started to build their careers and their family in California, raising two sons; Mark and Todd. In 1992, Joann and Oscar moved to Hamilton, MT and built their retirement home. The couple was married for 46 years until Oscar’s untimely death in 1999. Joann continued to live in the house that she and her husband built in Hamilton until her passing. Joann is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister, Ruth Hudspeth Sitter. She is survived by her two sons, Mark and Todd and her two grandsons Noah and Elijah, as well as nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.

Interment will follow at Corvallis Cemetery in Corvallis, MT.
