John Joseph Hess

VICTOR - John Joseph Hess, Jr., 83, of Victor passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 with his wife by his side, due to complications from multiple strokes and Alzheimer's disease. He was born December 5, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI the son of John A. and Sophie A. (Meyer) Hess.
John graduated from Orland Joint Union High School in California. He married Fawn Z. Hess on February 10, 1982. John served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, where he served in Sea Search and Rescue and also as a Survival Training Instructor.
John was a jewelry designer and owned his own store in Las Vegas, NV. After retiring he moved to Montana and worked at Anglers Roost in Hamilton, MT. John enjoyed stamp collecting since the age of 10 and was a member of the Garden City Stamp Club. He also enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing. John played football in high school and also in the Air Force.
John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Fawn Hess of Victor, MT; sister, Joanne Whitburn of Chico, CA; daughter, Debbie Gill (Pete) of Pioche, NV; son, John "Rick" Hess (Gai) of Denver, CO; son, Randell Miller (Tarena) of Reno, NV; daughter, Tamara Latimer of Reno, NV; son, Norman Bailey (Viola) of Switzerland; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in the spring in the Big Hole. The family suggests that memorials be made in John's name to the Alzheimer's Support Group (Council on Aging, 310 Old Corvallis Road, Hamilton, MT 59840.)
