CORVALLIS - John "Jack" R. Niederhauser, 82, of Corvallis passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at his home. He was born November 27, 1926 in Roberts, WI the son of John R. and Clementine A. (MacGregor) Niederhauser.
Jack was raised and educated in Medicine Lake, MT. He served in the US Army during WWII. In 1965 he moved to the Bitterroot Valley. Jack worked for the US Forest Service and at Louisiana Pacific. He also served as a board member for Daly Ditches Irrigation.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rick Niederhauser; and his brother, Jerry Niederhauser. He is survived by his wife, Vanaye of Corvallis; his children, Jackie Thompson and husband Ian of Huntington Beach, CA, Carol Gran of Dickenson, ND, Walter (Butch) Niederhauser and life time companion, Lynn, of Miles City, MT and John Gray and wife Marta of Fresno, CA; 2 sisters, Wilma Wiitala and husband Matt of Seattle, WA and Marilyn Michels of Billings; grandchildren, Kim Thompson, Mike Thompson, Herb Gran, Risa Nodland, Angie Valdez, Jack Niederhauser, Trevor Gray and Brandon Gray; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Gran, Kassidy Gran and Zachary Nodland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
