John "Phil" Zacha

CORVALLIS - John "Phil" Zacha, 88, of Corvallis passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at West Hills Assisted Living in Hamilton.

He was born June 24, 1936 at St Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana to John Zacha Jr. and Charlotte.  Phil married Bernadine Ritcher on November 30, 1957.

He served in the Montana National Guard from 1954 to 1963.  Phil started his business, Zacha Construction, in 1969.

Phil enjoyed skydiving, trapshooting, and rock hounding.  He was an active member of the Weapons Collectors Society of Montana.  Phil was also an active innovator in the field of underground utility installation.

Phil was preceded in death by his daughter, Sunsan; wife, Bernadine; parents, John and Charlotte Zacha; brother, Stuart; and sister, Louise.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Zacha; sons, David Zacha and wife Kim and James Zacha; grandchildren, Bob Nicol and his wife Thuan, Andrew Zacha, Stephanie Zacha, Ciara Gilman and husband Shane; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 9:00 until 11:00 am at the Daly-Leach Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at Daly-Leach with a reception following in the funeral home's community room.  Burial with Military Honors will take place at 2:00 pm at the Corvallis Cemetery.
